A. What is Exnora ?
The word EXNORA stands for EXcellent , NOvel & RAdical , one ensuring these qualities in one’s thoughts, words, and action. Whatever we tell or do should be extraordinary, new (fresh in its content including how it is told or done) and transformative. Exnora achievements are due to its success in enlisting people’s participation and mobilising the social capital. B. Success Realised The Temple Exnoras started in several temples are in existence for many years in many towns and the most notable among them is Madurai Meenankshi Amman which is doing a noble service under the banner in Tamil : “Thirukovil Exnora” to keep Tamilnadu’s biggest temple (a nominee for wonders of the world) clean and beautiful.

C. Why Exnora? Exnora can be called an organisation or a concept. But it is a movement today. People have been contributing ideas out of their own experience. Down to earth concepts have been conceived, put into test and success realised. Exnora’s main strength is its ability in social mobilisation (Social Capital) and enlist people’s participation.
