The Objectives & Functions of Temple Exnora
A. OBJECTIVES OF ‘TEMPLE EXNORA’:
To mobilise the devotes to keep the Temple (inside and outside) clean, beautiful and green
and enviro-friendly ensuring proper amenities including providing potable drinking water and
toilet facility. Deepening and maintaining temple tank and facilitating Rain Water Harvesting.
Introducing a proper system for the pilgrims safety and keeping the streets around the temple spick
and span and green. To preserve the temple’s heritage. , by maintaining the civil structure,
preventing defacing of the temple walls, keeping and maintaining the temple clean.
B. FUNCTIONS of Temple Exnora:
- Clean Temple : To keep the whole Temple campus garbage-free, sewage free. Ensure even prasadams are not littered anywhere & everywhere. (e.g. Vibhudhi & Kunkumam)
- Introduce waste to wealth concepts (Solid Waste Management): by using Exnora’s
“Zero Waste Management Programme”, particularly Exnora’s Source Solid Waste Management
(SoSoWaM). Almost 90% of waste generated will be converted as wealth. Attractive separate
trash bins for Compostable and Recyclable waste in green and red colour respectively can be
kept both inside and outside. Signs on cleanliness will be displayed. Regular cleaning
activities will be carried out by volunteers, called Temple Beautifiers .The devotees
are requested to volunteer to be a part of the cleaning campaign. The terminology for
volunteering to do work is called Shramdhan or Thirupani or
Uzhavara Pani .
In a corner TEMPLE ZERO WASTE CENTRE will be located which will not affect the Temple’s
heritage/ beauty or create bad smell where composting and separation of recyclables will
take place.

Exnora will help the temple in also Exnora’s Source Liquid Waste Management (SoLiWaM).
The waste water sewage and sullage will be 100 % made use of, for greening activities. While the sewage will be treated bacterially, the sullage will be used straightaway for watering gardens

Source Gas Waste Management::
Through anaerobic digestion out of organic waste and cow and other animal dung , bio gas (methane) can be generated and used for cooking in Madapalli.

- Green Temple : To carry on greening activities. To revive the Temple parks (Nandavanams). To develop garden outside the compound of the temple as a beautification act and to prevent encroachments and stop people dirtying the temple and its surroundings. - Hygiene Toilet : The most important amenity should be creation of Exnora People’s Toilet / pay
and use toilet and bathrooms outside. The solid, liquid and gas waste of the toilet will be converted
as compost, garden water and cooking gas respectively.

SUMMARY
- To Keep Temple Clean.
- To carry out necessary repairs to the building and walls.
- To take care of Temple structure safety.
- To keep vigil against disfigurement and defacing of walls, art and architecture of the Temples by Vandals and Visitors.
- To remove trees growing on shrines, towers, buildings and monuments.
- To exercise vigil in prevention of advertisements and commercial boards on the temple wall.
- To preserve heritage

- To take up with the Government and Charitable Organisations for rehabilitation of beggars

- To arrange orderly parking of vehicles around temple to prevent traffic jams.

- Volunteers Bank : Temple Exnora will use Exnora’s Volunteer bank . - Recognition : To encourage and recognise who are all involved in the Temple Work.
- Important : Before commencement of the work, the Temple Exnora Office bearers should arrange to take photos of places which they have decided to clean , green ,improve & beautify and again take the photo of the same place after the improvement and send both photos to Temple Exnora National Coalition for uploading the Before and After photos along with the group photos of the team that did it for posting in the web site..
